How It All Began
It all started for me in the 1950’s when I started my passion for taking nude and glamour photos of local girls I knew. At that time is was difficult to get film developed at the local labs, so I began to process my own film. I would shoot portraits of friends and relatives and of course girl friends that let me shoot them in the nude.
It wasn’t long after that that I realized this could actually be fun and even a way to pick up some extra cash. So I began to go to a Figure Art studio in New York City that would charge $7 an hour to photograph some very hot, natural and large busted models. They would model on a small stage that was a bare set with some hot lights. All the photographers would take their shots and some would even pay for a private session in a small space set up with a curtain for privacy. I never tried that I guess I was still too young and only assume that is where the really erotic shots were taken. You an see some of my early black and white Figure Art images here.
Over the years I continued to shoot nudes. I hired models and photographed them for my new mail order business.
Before the internet women weren’t concerned that people would see these photos…today that is a different story, privacy is a big issue. You can see much of what I have shot over the years in the various galleries on this site.
I shot my early work with an old Speed Graphic 4X5 inch Press camera. It produced large 4″X5″ negatives. The negatives went out to a lab and were contact printed into photos that I would sell by running small ads in men’s magazines. I would go to my P.O. Box, collect orders and checks and mail the prints. Later I shot girls that wanted portraits and I convinced the to let me shoot some more artistic nudes of them. I had learned how to talk to my models and produce some nice and some erotic images for my private portfolio.
1960’s & 70’s – My Education Continues
In the 1960’s I worked in the Employment Agency industry and later in the 1970’s the women’s apparel industry. Both career moves introduced me to women who were willing to pose for me. For over ten years, I continued my passion to shoot all sorts of women. Some beautiful and some who had passion and didn’t mind stripping down for me. I was still shooting for my own enjoyment and for the knowledge I gained in working with my female models.
1980’s – NYC Apartment – Studio
In the early 1980’s porn became legal and theaters in NYC began to show films like “Deep Throat” and others. NY was the hub for porn film production and I used to hang out with Ron Jeremy the famous male actor then and many others in the industry. We used to meet after work at a Bar off Broadway called Bernard’s for drinks.
I even invested a great deal of money in a movie called Raw Talent that became a box office success and won the best adult film of the year award.
In 1987 I had some good fortune in another business and made a lot of money in a new venture I started. I decided to set up an office in a brand new building in Manhattan. I was in a work/live type setting where small businesses could work out of these new apartments. It was beautiful and I had plenty of money to decorate it properly.
My new business needed models for a tee shirt company I also owned at that time. I ran ads in the Village Voice newspaper and had loads of young women coming in to see if they could qualify. Of course I wanted to “test” shoot a roll or two of 3D and traditional slide film of them and had my beautiful bedroom set up for photography and in my living room area set up my backdrops and lights. You can see a number of my 3D and 35mm slide sets on this site.
My business in New York ended after a few years and I moved everything back to my home.
The 90’s – Glamour Workshops
In the 1990’s I found I could make a few dollars on the side shooting models for some of the men’s magazines. I also began to run Glamour and Boudoir workshops and placed ads in local papers for models. I found many that wanted the experience and the photos to start their portfolios so this new business began.
The photo workshops worked out well. The photographers would pay $100 for the day, we would take a large meeting room in a local hotel and set up four lighted sets. We had studio lights and backdrops and even props where necessary. We had a make-up expert who would give a class first on how to apply the proper make-up and we even had a slide show that taught techniques and proper posing.
Then everyone entered the sets and we had 4-6 photographers in each set with one model. I would demonstrate how to shoot the model, the proper camera settings and the photographers would each plug into the lighting system, pose the models and take their shots. After 15 minutes we would ask them to switch to the next photographer in their group. After an hour or so the entire groups would move to the next setup and model.
Keli – Gent & Juggs Magazine
a one hour lab that was processing my prints. She liked what we were shooting but didn’t want to be photographed by a group of men. I set up a Valentines Day shoot with her, it was to be a glamour shoot that would give her some nice photos to give to her boyfriend. Well, as things happen she enjoyed it so much that we ended up doing a number of private shoots that you will see on our website and two of them ended up in Gent and Juggs magazines. See her layouts in both magazines now
Since I was working out of my home/studio I began to shoot some of our models there. My home is a large expanded ranch with many great rooms for my shoots. The master bathroom has a 100 gallon whirlpool tub which you will see in some of the sets and my den is all cedar and is quite nice. Master bedroom and other rooms in the house were used.
Photos Shot In the 1990’s – Early 2000’s
Here is a gallery of some of the sets shot in my home during this time. You don’t need a studio to shoot glamour and nudes.
1990’s And The World Wide Web
I suppose it was in the early 1990’s that the World Wide Web began to take off. I thought it would be a great time to start my own website and registered two domains, Awesome 3D and 3D SeXXX. Originally I would attempt to sell my great 3D and 35mm slides and prints, but it soon became clear that 3D would be the way to go.
Adult websites only offered photo galleries back then, the internet was young and high speed internet service was not available. I decided to team up with a VR company who developed a method to convert my 3D slide images into a virtual reality image that required viewing with their electronic headsets. In addition, we offered Anaglyphic 3D images that only required those red and blue paper glasses. See Our Gallery and How To Make Your Own
In order to build the business I needed additional models and turned to One Model Place a website that had many amateur models that were willing to pose for nude and erotic photos. I was one of their first members, my member number was 181, they now have hundreds of thousands of members. I also started a new website called the Erotic Photographers Cooperative and it was a site that photographers would be able to display their work and share or recommend models to other members.
So I had an ample source of new models that you will still find in some of our galleries. I began selling many of my slides, especially 3D on eBay and realized this could indeed be a business. The idea of selling 3D images to other websites was a partial success, but really didn’t generate much income. I did license a company to produce some CD’s at that time with my images and for a $10,000 dollar advance against royalties they began to sell some of my collections.
Now We Are On eBay
I think eBay was the best solution to reach an international buyer. I found buyers from around the world that were truly excited about the Realist format 3D slides I had to offer. Many were still collecting 3D nudes from the 1950’s that were faded and in poor condition. I found a niche and with over 100 model shoots I had thousands of slides to offer.
Many customers bought thousands of dollars in my slides from me and it encouraged me to continue to shoot and produce 3D and 35mm slides, Lenticular 3D prints, photo prints as well as other photographic items for my customers.
Unfortunately eBay changed the rules on selling erotica to international buyers. If it is considered Risque you can list it in their general section of the site and accept international orders. If it was erotica and adult oriented it had to go into the Adult Section of their site. The adult section however would not allow international sales, due to certain countries postal or other regulations. So this had an enormous negative impact on my sales and I decided to take a rest.
Risquephotos.Net Is Born
To help my sales I decided to create a new website and with my knowledge of website construction started to create this website. It was an enormous job that required scanning thousands of photos, slides and creating all the galleries and pages you see here today. It had to be done, my inventory was heavy and I needed another way to sell my products.
I attempted to sell my slides in sets. I would select a set of 6 slides from the ones I had of a model for the buyer and sell it that way, but discovered I was more successful in selling slides individually. That brings us to where we are today.
In an effort to reach the international market, I found I could take some of my more modest slides and run them in the general section of eBay. Once I found buyers interested in my Realist format slides I could direct them to our website where they could purchase the more erotic slides.
Many customers who had spent as much as $50 for a single 3D vintage slide could now buy some of the best Glamour and erotic Realist slides through our website at much lower costs. I have gained fame over the years with my long time customers who know my real name. Fame is O.K. for me in my other life, but no so much in my secret life, so when I pass one day the truth may come out.
3 Sides To Our Lives
There are three sides to our lives. The public side, the private side and the secret side. My work over the years with the glamour and the erotic images I have produced are part of my “Secret Life” and I try to keep it that way. Those in the 3D industry know me well under my real name and have agreed, I am the only photographer in the world that has produced as much quality images as I have in Realist format 3D. I have some fame in our industry and with my buyers, but alas, it is fame that I can’t enjoy or make public at this time.
I do have another public life that enables me to publish a number of online publications. I produce my photos and videos that are seen on YouTube and in the many articles. I publish and continue to write many articles for our publications and for other websites. I am quite well known in my public life. Those that do business with me have been kind enough to keep my secret life just that and I thank you all.
Will My Works Increase In Value?
I hope you will enjoy my works that may increase in value over the years to come as Ron Rafaelli and others have. There are few 3D erotic photographers that have made a contribution of this kind to the Realist 3D community as we have.
As many have paid and bid on some of the older 3D slides, I would imagine in time, my works will garner the same or better prices then the old unknown faded slides of the 50’s.
I am now in my 70’s and no longer shoot 3D. The processes used to produce the slides, which is explained on this site, is no longer available. However, you can be assured my Realist slides will stand the test of time and will not fade or degrade as traditional slides have.
When you buy slides from me you know they are not massed produced and at best only one or two of a slide is made available…no more. You are buying a one-of-a-kind work of photographic art.
You can read more about the process that was passed down to me by a friend the great 3D photographer Ron Raffaelli. Ron was best known for his early photos of Jimmie Hendrix and you can find out more about Ron here.
Order Some Of My Slides
I hope you will take some time and go through all the galleries on this website including our extensive 3D Realist Slide galleries. It has taken a great deal of time to scan every single slide still available. Remember, the $10-$15 you pay now for one of my slides direct, could sell for a great deal more in years to come on eBay.
Here is an actual screen shot of some of my slides resold by one of my buyers in a recent auction on eBay. Now that I have become active on eBay again and made this site easier to navigate, I will be posting slides on a regular basis. I hope you will appreciate the years of work I have done to bring you the only Risque slides of its kind in the world. I am the world’s largest producer of erotic and glamour Realist 3D slides and that means your investment in my art makes good sense.
Thank you all for your past support I look forward to doing business with you in the near future.
